Daniel Espinosa has come on-board to direct Life for Skydance with David Ellison and Dana Goldberg producing along with Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn. The project, an original idea, has a script written by Deadpool duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being but the project is believed to be in the elevated studio space that Skydance has become known for. Paramount are in pole position to distribute the film given their long-standing relationship with Ellison but no deal has been confirmed as of yet.
It’s been a banner year for Skydance with Terminator: Genisys posting strong international numbers and Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation doing well everywhere. Ellison also has Star Trek Beyond in post and is currently filming Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, again with Tom Cruise. Dean Devlin’s Geostorm, starring Gerard Butler and Abbie Cornish, is also in post.
Espinosa is repped by WME, Agentfirman Planthaber/Kildén and Magnolia Entertainment. He most recently directed Tom Hardy-starrer Child 44.
